The trek ranges from moderate to strenuous and may take 2–6 hours depending on gorilla location. A reasonable fitness level is recommended.

Gorilla trekking is available year-round, but the dry seasons (June–August & December–February) offer the best hiking conditions and photography opportunities.
Yes. Golden monkey tracking is a popular add-on and can be done on the third day if you stay an extra night or start your return journey later.
Mgahinga is less crowded and offers scenic volcano views, but it has only one habituated gorilla family. Bwindi has more groups but may be busier.
