June to September and December to February are the best times, with less rain and excellent wildlife visibility. However, the park is open year-round.
Game drives and boat safaris offer safe yet close wildlife viewing from the vehicle or boat. You’ll see hippos, elephants, buffalo, and possibly lions and leopards.
Both options are available. Some lodges are located inside the park (like Mweya), while others sit on the edge with great views and easy access.
