Semuliki National Park lies in western Uganda, nestled in the Albertine Rift Valley near the DR Congo border, just 52km from Fort Portal. It forms part of the larger Ituri Forest (Congo Basin), making it Uganda’s only true lowland tropical rainforest.

  • Established: 1993 (formerly a forest reserve since 1932)
  • Altitude: 670–760 meters (2,200–2,500 ft) – One of Uganda’s lowest parks
  • Key Feature: Only East African extension of Congo’s Ituri Forest
